Welcome back to the start of the Summer Term! Below are a few dates for your diary and details of what is happening this term.

 

APRIL

23RD      Years 3/4 Samba drumming project starts (every Thursday to

              half term)                    

             KS2 to New Wolsey theatre for Royal Opera House production of

             The Red Balloon.

MAY

4th         May Day  - school closed

5th         Reception class to visit Notcutts Garden Centre

6th         Years 5/6 DanceEast/ROH Workshop at Angela Cobbold Hall

11th        Years 3/4 DanceEast/ROH Workshop at Angela Cobbold Hall

20th       Last swimming session at Deben Pool for Years 3/4

25th – 27th  Half Term

 

JUNE

1st & 2nd  PD Days – School Closed

4th          Years 5/6 lst Wolsey Dance Project workshop with Michael Platt

               – Village Hall

5th           Years 5/6 Wolsey Dance Project – Village Hall

8th-11th   Years 5/6 Trip to Paris

16th         Years 5/6 Maths Roadshow at Kesgrave High School

17th         Years 1/2 “Monster Magic” Theatre project as part of         

               Roma Traveller Gypsy History Month

18th         Years 5/6 Samba Project starts until 9th July

19th         Federation Day

20th         FOBS School Fete 5pm – 9pm

23rd         Years 5/6 Dance Project Angela Cobbold Hall

24th         Years 5/6 Dance Project Angela Cobbold Hall

29th         Farlingaye High School New Intake Day

               Years 5/6 Dance Project Rehearsal at Northgate

30th         Kesgrave High School Induction Day

 

JULY

2nd           Years 5/6 Dance Project Village Hall

3rd            Dance Project performance at New Wolsey theatre

8th            Year 6 Sailing Day

14th           Sports Day

17th           Last day of Term – non-uniform 30p donation

 

Details of all the trips will be forwarded later.

 

Thank you to FOBS  for organising the very successful family photographs last Saturday.

 

Also a huge “thank you” to the parents who have given us furniture for the Café. If there is anyone else who has a wooden chair or table, old tea or coffee pot (for display) we will be very pleased to hear from you!

Duncan’s class:           The Local Environment and Sustainable Living

 

Main dates for the first half of term:

 

January

14        FOBS meeting 7 30 at School. We need your help! The more the merrier (and

            easier!)

15        Parents Evening at Bucklesham CP School for parents of Year 6 children

            attending this term’s Y 6 Federation Sex Education programme

27        Orwell Vets visiting Reception class

 

Thursdays this half term: Year 5/6 will be learning Djembe drumming with drumming

instructor Mark Trewarthar. Next half term it will be Years 3/4

 

February         

6          Key Stage 2’s production of David Copperfield !  1.30 and 6.30 pm

            Tickets will go on sale 19 January

16-20   Half – term break       

 

After half-term, after-school clubs can start up again and details of these will follow nearer the time
